Ever-changing Fashion Trends Of Bollywood

If you need to point out to one aspect in this world, which can never be constant, it would certainly be Fashion. It is rightly said that a new fashion trend takes birth every day, which is promisingly true. Talking about fashion in Bollywood cinema it can be counted from the era of 1960s. Popular star pairs in Bollywood came up with the trendiest fashion trends that became the style quotient of the era then. Raj Kumar-Meena Kumari a leading pair who was seen acting in mythological films had a different trend to portray. Later, the pair of Dilip Kumar- Madhubala once again brought in a different trend where Madhubala was spotted wearing tight chudidaars and kurtis. Jeetendra who was popularly called as jumping jack once again was seen wearing a white attire from head to toe which later continued to become a fashion.

Talking about Deva Anand, he was one such actor who came up with an attire which had colored muffler tied around the neck and cap. Raj Kapoors Russain style spool T-shirts became quite popular and the flowy gowns by Nargis became a much-preferred costume in parties and other get-togethers. Bollywood movies those times had many swimming pool scenes where in models and actresses were spotted in multicolored shinning swimming costume. However, the polka dotted swimming costume was then a popular trend. Rajesh Khanna fondly called as kaka usually wore kurtis and safari suits, which was adapted by many men then. Bell-bottoms and puffed sleeved tops worn by Sridevi, Rekha became popular among young teenage and college going girls.

Then came a leap in trends where actors like Malaika Arora Khan, Lara Dutta, and Bipasha Basu were spotted wearing min skirts, tight narrow bottom jeans, tube and halter necked tops and many more. Madhuri Dixit then was spotted wearing a backless choli in the famous song Dhak Dhak Karne Laga. A trend of leather jackets and branded glares was seen in Bollywood, which actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Jackie Shroff and Saif Ali Khan adapted. The attire for these starts came from popular designers.

Actors today are indeed specific about the costume they wear for every function. They insist on having designer costumes and rarely change their costume designer. Many of the actors however have their own spouse designing costumes for them. Salman Khan and John Abraham who flaunted their topless look in many of their movies also have become a style quotient. Gowns and designer saris with strapped blouses have once again become a common trend in Bollywood as actors like Kareena Kapoor, Sushmita Sen, Rani Mukherjee were seen wearing them in their films .The ideal wedding attire in movies was heavy designed sharara that looked royal in every way. Bright shervanis worn by actors in movies too became a trend in many marriage ceremonies. Not missing out the branded clothing, it is necessary for every celebrity. Today the brand name is being given importance by every person not only inside the film industry but outside too.

People love experimenting different attires and while buying a particular designer wear, they are very particular about its looks and quality. The current trend adopted by many females is that of wearing tight leeggings and kurtis, which is once again adapted from Bollywood actresses. The trend of wearing transparent saris too slowly gained popularity. Talking about the future fashion trend in Hindi cinema it would either be a comeback of the old traditional form or a total new way of wearing gowns, skirts, saris. Lets not predict too much as we know Bollywood always has something special to offer to people so lets wait and see what fashion trends the future has in store for us.
